Director of Finance

OfferPal Media (www.offerpalmedia.com) is a Web 2.0 online advertising start-up that provides an innovative online consumer acquisition service, on a pay-for-performance basis. We enable online merchants and advertisers to grow revenues, acquire quality customers and maximize brand reach through blogs, websites and social networks. We enable some of the top Facebook, Bebo and MySpace applications to grow their revenue using our network of advertisers. OfferPal Media, Inc. is seeking to fill the position of Director of Finance to join our top management team. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all aspects of our general ledger accounting, and external reporting processes. This person will have the ability to architect and implement the procedures, processes and systems to enable us to meet the operational, reporting and other requirements of a growing business.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the day to day accounting activities; general accounting, payroll, A/R, A/P and Fixed Assets
  • Manage the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for management
  • Preparing, administering and directing control of the budget
  • Managing activities of the Administrative/Accounting Staff
  • Monitor & report company revenue and expenses
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with established company policies and procedures as well as financial controls, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

Duties:

  • Monthly Close
  • Prepare board reports
  • Direct annual budget process
  • Interact with multiple departments
  • Support External Audit
  • Sales commission calculations and tracking
  • Report and account for advertiser & publisher numbers; review and maintain Insertion Orders
  • Oversee payments to Publishers
  • Monitor Cash on daily basis
  • Work closely with executive team to support business
  • Liaison to external auditors, banks, insurance & benefits companies
  • Manage other projects as necessary

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • 10+ Years including 5+ years with manager experience
  • Hands-on controller with an HR background in high growth environment
  • Start-Up Company experience required
  • Experience in internet-based company preferred
  • Education: BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA Preferred
  • Strong skills with QuickBooks, Excel
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, & communication skills
