Senior Software Engineer

Offerpal Media is a Web 2.0 online advertising start-up that provides an innovative online consumer acquisition service, on a pay-for-performance basis. We enable online merchants and advertisers to grow revenues, acquire quality customers and maximize brand reach through blogs, websites and social networks. Located in Fremont, CA, we are a fast growing startup company founded by successful serial entrepreneurs and funded by top-tier VCs.

Our technical team has experience building and deploying large scale distributed applications and web scale optimization technologies. We are looking to add a stellar web developer to our all-star team.

Software engineer with 5 – 10 years of experience in building java applications. Key technologies include: Java/J2EE (Struts, Hibernate and other java frameworks), with MySQL experience a plus. Any experience with consumer-oriented website a plus. Must be able to work as part of a team, taking ownership of specific modules, and showing initiative in researching new technologies and finding new methods for accomplishing development goals.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of Java/Oracle software development experience on Linux/Unix
  • BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Work with product team to assess feasibility and priority of new features
  • Assist in testing regularly scheduled releases
  • Proactively recommend architecture changes and suggest new coding practices
  • Collaborate with senior developers to optimize scalability and network efficiency
  • Stay up-to-date with competing technologies
